Who we are

Data controller

The controller for personal data processed through this website is Stichting Residua, a not-for-profit foundation registered in the Netherlands, operating as Residua Research Institute. You can reach us at hello@residua.eu. Our Chamber of Commerce, i.e., KVK, registration number will be published here once issued.

What this site does not do

No cookies, no tracking

This website sets no cookies of any kind and uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking technologies. All fonts, stylesheets, and other resources are served from our own domain, so visiting this site does not transmit your data to third-party font, video, or script providers. Because we set no cookies and use no comparable technologies, no cookie banner or consent request is needed.

What is processed

Server logs

Like nearly all websites, our hosting infrastructure processes technical data needed to deliver pages to your browser, including your IP address, the pages you request, the time of the request, and your browser type. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, operated by Cloudflare, Inc., which acts as our processor and may retain short-lived technical logs for security and operational purposes. We do not use this data to identify visitors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure and reliable website, per Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

When you contact us

If you email us, we process the personal data you choose to share, such as your name, email address, affiliation, and the content of your message. We use it only to handle your enquiry and any follow-up correspondence. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, per Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or, where the contact concerns an agreement, per Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. We keep correspondence no longer than necessary for these purposes and review stored correspondence at least annually.

What we do not collect

We do not build visitor profiles, we do not sell or share personal data for marketing, and we make no automated decisions about you. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights

Rights under the GDPR

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@residua.eu and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

We will update this statement if the way this website processes data changes, for example if we add a functioning contact form, a newsletter, or donation processing. The date below reflects the most recent revision.
